Jonzac, 20 min drive, has a wider range of shops and excellent indoor/outdoor tropical pool complex “Les Antilles”. Beautiful golden sands of the Atlantic coast around Royan area 75 min drive. Ferry across the Gironde estuary at Blaye, 45 min drive, provides a lovely day out visiting the renowned wine estates of the Médoc; you may wish to continue on to the sailing lakes and superb Atlantic beaches stretching towards Arcachon. Historic Cognac with its world famous distilleries is 45 min drive, while Bordeaux is just 1 hour distant. Eurostar/TGV to Angoulême 60 km. Generous covered terraces facing SW and W have views over the stunning salt-water heated “infinity” pool, 11 x 6 x 1-2m depth with Roman steps and security immersion alarm. The owners have retained lovely traditional features by extending the accommodation to include the property’s former wine and cognac barns housing an excellent games room with table tennis and table football. Gas BBQ. Two bikes (no helmets) for clients use. Two living areas and two kitchens means this house would particularly suit a multi-family party. Wide doors, ground floor bedrooms, level floors and the absence of steps at the external doors, terraces and poolside, all make the property convenient for the less mobile. The perfect location to enjoy al fresco living.
