Typical village from the Var-region between sea and mountains, full of history. From Bagnols, it takes only 20 km to reach Frejus and Saint Raphael and to access the beaches directly. Towards the West the Maures mountain-range stretches out and towards the East the mountains of Esterel.
The Massif des Maures, extending as far as Hyeres, harbours pine trees, cork-oaks and chestnut-trees. It is hardly frequented and offers beautiful walks. The coastline spreading at its feet from St Aygulf to St Tropez is punctuated by renowned sea-resorts (Port Grimaud, Ste Maxime) but also with 'calanques' (narrow coves), small bays and peaceful beaches nearby Issambres. Between St Raphael and La Napoule, l'Esterel offers a natural design of great beauty. The contrast between bubbly coastlife and the solitude of the inland roads is extraordinary.
