It lies mid way between Caldbeck in the Northern fells and Ullswater in the Eastern Lakes, probably one of the most peaceful areas of Cumbria. It is ideal for cycling, with miles of country lanes and hardly any traffic and plenty of walks in the forest, or on the nearby fells. The delightful villages of Greystoke, Caldbeck and Hesket New Market are all within cycling distance and have shops, pubs and cafes. More amenities can be found in the bustling tourist town of Keswick or the market town of Penrith.
