Troutbeck Bridge is a great base from where to explore a host of Lakeland attractions. Mid way between Windermere and Ambleside, holiday makers can sample the Roman Fort at Ambleside, Brockhole Visitors centre and take in some impressive high-level views over Windermere Lake from the Troutbeck valley, all within manageable walking distance of the cottage or an easy drive.
